Walking with Ease - NEW CLASS!

The Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program is a community-based physical activity and self-management education program. This structured six-week program will meet/walk 3 times a week for 6 weeks at Gough Park. Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 11 am-Noon & Fridays from 9:30-10:30. While walking is the central activity, Walk with Ease is a multi-component program that also includes health education, stretching and strengthening exercises, and motivational

strategies. Group sessions include socialization time, pre-walk informational lectures, warm up and cool downs and a 10-35 minute walking period. The Class Walk with Ease is a fitness program shown to reduce pain and improve your health. Tailor-made for you, the Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program provides techniques to build and maintain a successful walking program. Walk with Ease will help you: Motivate yourself to get in great shape, walk safely and comfortably,

improve your flexibility, strength and stamina, reduce pain and feel great. Attend the informational meeting on Wed, September 13 at 10 am. Class cost is $15 & payable to Baltimore County.

Water Aerobics and Warm Water Therapy  - NEW!!!

Seven Oaks Senior Center is partnering with Kids First Swim Schools in Perry Hall to offer Water Aerobics or Warm Water Therapy classes at a discounted rate of $6 per class. You choose how many days a week you plan to attend classes. You can choose to sign up for the months of        October, November and/or December. The Water Aerobics is a low impact, high cardio class and is offered M, T, Th and F from 9:00 am - 9:45 am. The Warm Water Therapy class is a 45 minute    no-impact exercise program cosponsored by the American Arthritis Foundation and is offered M, T, Th and F from 9:45 am - 10:30 am. A representative from Kids First Swim Schools will be at the Center on Tuesday, September 19 from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm to answer questions. You may also sign up that day for classes and complete their registration, release and waiver form. Sign up for classes by Friday, September 22.

You’ll love this new way to work out! We provide the ball and drum sticks and the heart pumping music! Get ready to sweat and have a great time while working out. Exercises can be modified for ability.

A strong core makes everything you do easier! Having a strong core is important for overall body strength, improved posture and
balance and will help prevent low back pain. This one hour class will focus on the muscles of the abdominals, torso, back and glutes. Plus, there will be some other key all body exercises. This class is tailored for all levels. If you have a yoga mat please bring it.

Sunday Walking Group
Stay active on the weekends with our new outdoor walking group! Meet fellow center members at the Gough Park located at the corner of East Joppa Road and Honeygo Blvd. Join us to help maintain a healthy, fit and active life style in a safe and friendly group setting.  The group meets at 1 pm at the Gough Park. The group will not meet if there is snow, rain, ice, high winds or below 35 degrees outside. Guests and pets are welcome to walk with you! No registration required, just show up when you can. Look for the center volunteer wearing a bright green scarf.

Pickle Ball at Honeygo Regional Park (Sept.-June)
Pickle Ball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. It is played with a paddle and plastic ball. All equipment provided. Please wear sneakers. We play indoors.

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 am - 12:30pm
Wednesdays from 11:30 am– 1:30 pm  

Fridays from 1-4 pm

Saturday play outdoors at Perry Hall Middle School from May-Oct. from 10 am - 2 pm

Enhance Fitness

Mondays 9-10 am, Wednesdays at 8:45-9:45 am & Thursdays 9-10 am (10-week class)  

10 Week class runs on Session Schedule

Cost: $25, payable to Seven Oaks Senior Center  

This class focuses on stretching, flexibility, balance, low impact aerobics, and strength training exercises– everything health professionals say is needed to maintain health and function as we grow older. 


Table Tennis

Wednesday 2:30-3:45 pm   (Ongoing)

Fridays 2:15-3:45 pm

Cost: No fee

Members meet to play single and doubles; new participants are welcome to join in. Table Tennis is occasionally cancelled due to special events scheduled in the MPR on Fridays. 


Senior Rhythms

Tuesday 11 am - 12 pm  & Thursday’s 10:45- 11:40 am  (Ongoing)

Leader: Audrey Doemling

Cost: No fee, drop in anytime.

This chair based program is designed to enhance participants endurance, as well as cardiovascular health. 


Strength Training

Tuesdays & Fridays 8:30-9:15 a.m.

8-Week Class on Session Schedule

Cost is  $25 and is payable to Seven Oaks Senior Center.

This class focuses on increasing strength and improving balance, coordination, endurance and flexibility.  

Tai Chi

Instructor: Tod & Lisa Waterman    

Fridays  9:30-10:15am for Beginners &  10:15-11am Advanced Students
10-week class on Session Schedule.

Cost: $30, payable to Seven Oaks Senior Center

Slow, rhythmic movements based on Chinese philosophic principles that present intellectual puzzles to stimulate the cerebral processes, meditations to relax the mind-body and exercises to strengthen the legs and improve balance. All levels welcome especially beginners. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

This class incorporates a system of breathing practices, physical exercise, posture and meditation intended to  integrate the mind, body and spirit.  It is a great way to improve health and reduce stress.


Zumba Gold-TONING
Wednesdays 11 a.m.-12 p.m.                  Instructor: Kim Privett
Cost: $25, payable to Seven Oaks Senior Center
This class combines spicy Latin dance rhythms with light weights to enhance muscle strength, tone &  endurance. This unique combination of cardio & resistance exercise makes this an effective total body workout that can improve balance, posture and coordination. A pair of 1 or 2 pound weights are recommended or purchase maraca-like toning sticks from the instructor.

 Zumba Gold

Cost: $25, payable to Seven Oaks Senior Center
Improve balance, flexibility and cardiovascular strength with this unique new class. Zumba Gold fuses the hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow dance moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program. This Latino inspired dance program includes Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Belly Dance, and Flamenco to provide a fun and
effective total body workout.
